Integers are whole numbers that can be positive, negative, or zero. Think of a carrom coin sliding left and right on a number line!
➡️Number line: Positive numbers move right, negative numbers move left. Adding is just moving along the line!
🔄Subtracting = adding the opposite: 7 − 18 is the same as 7 + (−18).
✖️Multiplying signs: (+)×(+)=+, (+)×(−)=−, (−)×(+)=−, (−)×(−)=+. Same signs give positive, different signs give negative!
➗Dividing signs: Follow the SAME rule as multiplication — same signs = positive, different signs = negative.
🌡️Real life: Temperature below zero, money owed (debt), floors below ground level — all use negative numbers!
Try thisA carrom coin moves +5 units, then −7 units. Final position = 5 + (−7) = −2 (2 units to the left of start)
